DWNTWN Muncie Voter Education and Pet Parade
The Anderson-Muncie Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, INC, INC (DSTAMAC) and Muncie/Delaware County Chapter LWV partnered together to provide voters education at the Canan Commons on Saturday, October 29, 2022 during the Mental Health Walk. The event was held 9-11:30am, included over 250 attendees, and was served by at least ten local nonprofit public service organizations and business sororities. The weather was perfect for the event, which was followed by the DWNTWN Costumed Creature Crawl and Pet Parade at 11:30am. Furry and scaled friends paraded and pranced on leashes for attention, treats, and scritches from Walnut Street to the Canan Commons.
The afternoon featured Indiana Wild’s presentation of their program, celebrating human-animal cultural connections, featuring a variety of animals, such as armadillo, hedgehog, owl, gator, snake, tortoise, lizard, bug, and a frog. The last part of the day's event was trick-or-treating with DWNTWN businesses. These events provided a great family and community opportunity to enjoy the weather while showing off their costume creativity.
